Ambassador Iwama attends the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference (17–18 June 2026)
On 17 and 18 June, Ambassador Iwama attended the Annual Security Review Conference (ASRC), a key OSCE forum for comprehensive discussions on the security situation and challenges across the OSCE region, and delivered a statement on behalf of the Government of Japan.
In his statement, Ambassador Iwama reaffirmed Japan’s strong support for the fundamental OSCE principles, including the rule of law, respect for sovereignty, and human rights. He highlighted Japan’s continued assistance to Ukraine and expressed support for ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and a just and lasting peace.
Ambassador Iwama also underscored the indivisibility of security between Europe and the Indo-Pacific. He stated that Japan will continue to contribute proactively to maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order, including through its evolving “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)” vision and cyber diplomacy initiatives.
