OSCE 1412th Reinforced Meeting of the Permanent Council (February 24, 2023)

On 24 February, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) convened the 1412th Reinforced Meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council to mark one year since the Russian Aggression against Ukraine. Ambassador Mizuuchi attended the meeting alongside Foreign Ministers and other senior officials from over 50 countries.
In his statement, Ambassador Mizuuchi reiterated Japan’s strong condemnation of Russia's aggression against Ukraine and called for the restoration of the international order based on the rule of law. As Japan is holding the G7 Presidency in 2023, he stressed the strong unity in fighting against Russia’s aggression. Finally, Ambassador Mizuuchi announced Japan’s new contribution, demonstrating Japan’s firm commitment to stand by the people of Ukraine.
